Before I started working with Gisbert, I had already signed a contract with a major German publishing house. The contract was finalized in 2021, and my first book was published shortly thereafter. However, I didn’t have my first one-on-one conversation with my editor until a year later, long after the book was out. Negotiations were tedious, creative discussions were almost nonexistent, and marketing was considered a taboo subject by the publisher. The entire burden of promotion fell on my shoulders.
While the publishing house was reputable and ensured that my book was stocked in stores, that was where their support ended. There was no advertising, no collaboration on social media, and not even a presence at the book fair to boost visibility. Overall, the experience was mediocre at best.
Then, everything changed when I started working with Gisbert. The most significant shift has been the way I now view my own books. As an author, it’s easy to get deeply absorbed in your story and prose. But Gisbert brought fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and opportunities I had never even considered. Suddenly, a whole new world of possibilities opened up for me. If you ask me how smooth the collaboration has been and whether I enjoy working with Gisbert, I’d give it an absolute 10 out of 10. I think I’ve never had so much fun being creative!
On a satisfaction scale of 0 to 10 for the work we’ve done together? Again, a perfect 10. At every stage, I’ve felt immense trust in how my books are handled. And how likely am I to recommend Gisbert and Leap Books to others? Without hesitation—another 10!
